At the Belgian GP in Lommel, riders faced a challenging sandy track, known to be one of the most difficult in the world. The rider representing the Ship to Cycle Honda Motoblouz SR team was Emil Weckman, as Valentin Guillod was unable to participate due to injury. Emil managed to obtain a 13th position in the race.

The GP was held on a completely new track, but the sand conditions remained the same as in previous years. On Saturday the track was dry, but on Sunday it became wetter and more challenging due to the rains. As a result, many riders experienced difficulties and crashes during the races.

Qualifying in fourteenth position, Emil started the first race well, but unfortunately had two crashes that dropped him out of the top twenty. However, he showed determination and managed to climb back up to fifteenth place. In the second race, Emil performed better, finishing in twelfth position, which contributed to his thirteenth overall position in the GP.

Next up for Emil Weckman will be the national GP, scheduled for next weekend in Vantaa. Certainly, he will be looking forward to a good performance on his home ground.

Josse Sallefranque: “A pretty good day on this sandy track of Lommel, Emil rode well this weekend even if he could not keep an eighth place due to two falls! He finally finished fifteenth, then twelfth of the second moto to score good points in the championship. Of course we wera disappointed with Valentin’s injury, which was with us this weekend.”
