It’s been a long time since the beginning of the Season and it certainly was one we won’t forget!
A Championship full of challenges and accomplishments for Team Ship To Cycle Honda Racing and our riders, who finished the last GP of Turkey the best way they could.
The race weekend started with some setbacks for Stephen Rubini and Emil Weckman, both entering the qualifying race with great expectations but ending in P15 and P18: a result that will deeply influence their performance in Race 1.
Going into the first race, the Lovemytraining riders had to keep up with their peers lap after lap but losed a few position and finished both in the second half of the leaderboard: 15th position for Weckman and 22nd for Rubini.
After making some adjustments and having learned the track, the young riders entered Race 2 with a totally different mindset – especially Rubini, who gained a lot of positions and finished the last race of the Turkey stage in P10. Different ending for Weckman, who is still recovering from the accident he had in March: he gave his best during the whole GP and finished Race 2 in P17.
When our talented riders crossed the finish line, we realized that this amazing Season was officially over! Stephen ended MXGP 2022 in the Top 10, fullfilling his commitment to the Team and taking home a well deserved 9th Place in the Championship.
Overall we are satisfied with his performance and the progress he made during training with our trainer Yves De Maria and we are also happy for Emil, who managed to attend the last GP and be part of this amazing event.
We own a shout out and a huge thanks to Josse Sallefranque, Yves De Maria and Team Ship To Cycle, which accompanied us during the whole season, helping our riders to reach new heights!
See you in the US for the Motocross of Nations!
