We are happy to report on the positive results of last weekend’s race in the French motocross championship where Valetin Guillod and Stephen Rubini competed.

On the renovated Romagne track, Valentin after an excellent start and an equally good race in the first moto, crossed the finish line a few seconds behind Jeffrey Herlings, currently in the top 3 of MXGP and the wild card of last week end. In the second race a rider crashed in front of him after the start, causing Valentin to lose several positions finding himself outside the top fifteen for a while. Despite everything, Valentin managed to recover and finished the race in fifth place.  This positive result allowed him to get on the podium for the third consecutive time classifying third overall.

Stephen Rubini eight behind the gate, after a bad start came back from the middle of the group to the ninth position in the first race, while in the second he had a better start and finished third.

With still four more rounds to go Valentin is 2nd in the championship and Stephen 6th and still in contention!

Josse Sallefranque: “Just a shame that Valentin and Stephen couldn’t have two good races in a row, because the speed was there and we could hope for even better even if we are happy with their results. This weekend it was tough to compete with Jeffrey Herlings who is fighting for a world title, but in Qualifying as well as during the first moto Valentin was the best of the pack, to finish only eight seconds to Herlings in the first moto. Stephen for his part recovered well in the second round, both scoring valuable points in the championship.”
