In Teutchenthal, the traditional German round of the Motocross World Championship, Valentin had another good chance to score many points once again. Qualifying eighth on Saturday, Valentin was in the top ten at the start of the first moto and after an intense race he finished in eighth position. His second start was surprising: he was in the top five, but while trying to finish fourth he crashed! He lost time and restarted in 24th position, but returned 13th and finished 11th overall in the GP. No top 10 in Germany, but that is not so important because thanks to his strong series of results he is now ninth in the MXGP class at mid-season!
Once again Valentin was the only representative of the Ship To Cycle Honda Motoblouz SR team, but next weekend for the penultimate round of the French championship he will be joined by Stephen Rubini, as Emil Weckman is still waiting for the “green light” from the doctors.
Josse Sallefranque: “I am happy to come home with this top 10 in the MXGP series, it is one of our goals this season! Valentin had a good first moto, the second one looked even better, he was fifth and had a good pace until the crash. He was very far after this fall but he never gave up to finish 13th and gain important points. Now we are halfway through the season, we still have many races ahead of us and we are focused on the next one, the French Elite, where Stephen will also be with us.”
