Great Nnachi won the silver medal in the pole vault at the European Athletics Championships U20 in Jerusalem. After long pursuing the Italian citizenship, which arrived last October, Great is finally on the podium in the Italian Team blue shirt.
In Jerusalem, she made the podium by reaching a height of 4.15 meters on her first attempt, in a competition that started without as early as 4.05 meters in qualifying.
Despite failing subsequent jumps to 4.25 and 4.35 meters, which would have allowed her to surpass her personal best of 4.30 meters set the previous year and equaled this season, Great Nnachi still managed to secure the valuable silver medal.
