At the MXGP of Trentino, near Arco di Trento, the usual venue of the championship, the weather was good and Valentin Guillod made his best performance so far with a seventh place in one moto and an eighth place in the overall standings.
On Saturday Valentin made a very good start in the qualifying race, but lost positions due to a crash while in the top five; he recovered well and secured the ninth position. On Sunday he made another excellent start in race one and was fourth for twenty minutes, then some “top guns” in the class passed him and he crossed the finish line seventh. In race two Valentin made another good start although not similar to the first one, and got a ninth position finishing the GP eighth overall.
The weekend was more difficult for Kevin Horgmo; fast during the time practice (eleventh behind Valentin), he qualified twenty-second and failed to make the best start from this position in the gate. Twelfth in both races and twelfth in the GP, he is currently tenth in the MXGP class in his rookie season.
