It was a weekend of fog, sun, rain and finally mud in St Jean d’Angely! The track was dry for the practice sessions, but on Saturday and Sunday there were some downpours in the afternoon and the track, especially in the second race, was very muddy!
Qualifying fifth on Saturday, Kevin in Sunday’s first moto was able to make a comeback from 14th to 11th and was doing quite well when a heavy downpour ruined the track before the second moto. After a great start in sixth, he kept a good pace and even gained a position when Gajser crashed to finish the race in fifth place, his best result so far!
Eleventh in the qualifying, Valentin had to retire early in the first moto due to a technical problem. In the second heat he had to discover a new track and got a decent 11th position, although the race conditions were not his favorite!
After this round Kevin and Valentin are respectively ninth and tenth in the standings; the next round is in two weeks with the MXGP in Germany.
