This weekend the MXGP championship took place in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Saturday was a warm and sunny day for qualifying, but on Sunday, after heavy overnight rain, the track was wet and muddy.
Having qualified seventh and eleventh on Saturday, Kevin and Valentin started in the middle of the pack in the first heat on Sunday and after one lap were twelfth (Valentin) and sixteenth (Kevin) respectively. As the track was muddy for this heat (it will dry for the second), it was easy to make mistakes, but both riders had a good race, with an eighth place for Valentin and an eleventh for Kevin, who had a crash after the middle of the period.
Kevin made another good start in the second race and was twelfth after one lap, while Valentin was last due to a crash on the first lap; with the support of the Swiss fans, he recovered from thirtieth to eleventh position, while Kevin never gave up and gained a few positions to finish eighth.
11/8 for Kevin, 8/11 for Valentin, a perfect parity for our two drivers who will enjoy a ‘free’ weekend before flying to Turkey and China, the next two stages.
