The MXGP of Turkey was held last weekend. Because the track is not permanent and is located in an area with a predominantly hot climate, the track in Afyonkarahisar (a city located 400 kilometers from Istanbul) has hard terrain and a good, fast main line, making the start even more crucial than at other circuits. Valentin and Kevin qualified in 13th and 14th position, respectively, which limited their trajectory options and prevented them from getting a good start in both races. There were no twists and turns; Kevin and Valentin gained or lost one or two positions to finish outside the top ten. Kevin got an 11th and 14th place, while Valentin finished with a 14th and 13th. Still, both earned important championship points, consolidating their positions in eighth and ninth with two races still to go. Now the focus is all on the last two rounds: next weekend in China and, at the end of the month, in Cozar (Spain).
