Valentin Guillod and Kevin Horgmo confirmed their positive debut in Argentina by doing even better at the MXGP of Spain, where the Ship To Cycle Honda Motoblouz SR team saw both riders in the top nine!
On Saturday, the riders collided during the first lap of the qualifying race. They had made a great start in the first five laps, but when Kevin crashed Valentin could not avoid it; Kevin was forced to retire with leg pain, while Valentin qualified seventh despite a sore wrist.
On Sunday morning Kevin set the third-fastest lap during the warm-up, while Valentin was ninth; Valentin made another great start in the first race with a fifth-place finish, and was sixth for a while, only to finish tenth when he felt pain in his right wrist mid-race. Eleventh behind his teammate, Kevin recovered well from the last gate choice after his DNF on Saturday.
Both confirmed their result in the second moto, with an eighth position for Valentin and a ninth for Kevin. They finish the GP in eighth and ninth positions and will line up next weekend in Castelnau de Levis for the second round of the French Elite Championship.
