Two weeks have passed since the previous GP and our riders took the time to hone their technique for the 13th stage of MXGP 2022!
A good start for Stephen Rubini and Benoit Paturel in the qualifying race, in which they respectively finished 10th and 18th: this might not seem too good, but the Loket’s track offers at least 20 good position at the starting greed. The game is still on!
Having studied the track and its competition, Rubini didn’t leave anything to chance in Race 1 and pulled off an amazing performance – fighting for the podium lap after lap, arm cramps slowed him down and made him lose 2 position, finishing the first inning in P5.
Unfortunately Race 2 was not as good: still suffering from cramps, Stephen could not confirm his 5th place and finished the second inning in P12, bringing home a new Top 10 position both in the GP (P9) and in the World Championship (P8).
Josse Sallefranque, Team Manager: “Happy of course of Stephen’s first moto, a pity that he made a little mistake and staled the engine in the last lap which makes him lose the fourth place. The second moto was less good after another good start, he got arms pumped and finished the race with a bloody hand due to bulbs. It was a tough race for him but did not give up to score good points. Benoit trains hard and the whole team is behind him but he fails to find his pace and his speed, which in the World Championship does not forgive, hope that it will click soon.”
Next week we’ll be in Belgium, ready to give our best once again! Stay tuned!
