For the third time this season, our riders traveled to Spain for the final round of the Motocross World Championship and discovered a new track built near Cozar, in Castilla. With a Spanish rider leading the MXGP, the event was a popular success!
Kevin Horgmo, who had been ill since returning from a short trip to Norway, did a few laps during the free practice session, but the sensations were so bad that he decided not to race, knowing that no one could beat him in the overall standings for the eighth place.
Falling ill in China, Valentin Guillod recovered quite well and improved his performance throughout the weekend. Tenth in Saturday’s qualifying race, he climbed from eleventh to eighth in the first race and did even better in the final one, finishing in sixth place, which earned him sixth place in the GP. It is his second-best result of the season, after the fifth place in Indonesia. He confirms his overall classification in the championship closing 9th!
Both Valentin and Kevin will participate in their last race of the season next weekend at Matterley Basin (United Kingdom), where they will defend their country’s colors alongside their teammates at the Motocross of Nations.
