For the first time in its history, the World Championship was held in Arnhem, thus inaugurating a new location. As is usual in the Netherlands, the tracks are characterized by sandy terrain, and this was the case in Arnhem as well. Unfortunately, this terrain, which became increasingly rough over the course of the weekend was not optimal for our riders. Valentin, despite the shoulder injury caused by a crash in Sweden, chose to race.
Emil, who qualified ninth on Saturday, fought hard on Sunday in both races, although he lost positions due to a crash. He secured 13th and 11th positions, finally finishing the GP in 11th place. This performance allowed him to climb one position in the championship standings, now occupying the thirteenth position.
Valentin’s journey from last to sixteenth place in the qualifying race was impressive. Despite being in pain, he managed to place in the top fifteen in both races on Sunday, taking fifteenth and thirteenth and finishing 14th overall.
Josse Sallefranque Team Manager of Ship To Cycle Honda SR: “We knew that it would be a tough round, on such a rough track! Emil fought well in both races, too bad he crashed in the first moto. Valentin finally decided to try riding despite the pain in his shoulder, he didn’t give up and score some very important points for the championship.”
